IT Training Awards - Categories
Celebrating quality, excellence and best practice

There are 13 categories in the IT Training Awards 2009. Read through the descriptions carefully before deciding which category (or categories) you wish to enter. There is no charge for your entries this year.

LEARNING FACILITIES OF THE YEAR

Presented to the learning facilities operator that has shown exceptional needs analysis, service innovation, and service delivery capabilities for their clients and for their clients’ learners. In particular, the judges will be seeking clear differentiators from other entrants to the Award, evidence of innovation and client endorsement, providing a service that generates real business/ public value, and having a strong proposition in response to the challenge “what was special about your performance this year?”

Your submission

You are requested to structure your submission in a way that covers the sections below; each section will be assessed by the judges during the short-listing phase and you will receive the judges' assessments for each section. There is a maximum of 3,000 words per submission - you are warned that only the first 3,000 words of your submission will be read. Supplementary material may be added if appropriate.

  • Overall Description – a brief description of the enterprise and the market segment in which it operates.
  • Sales & Marketing – consider the following points within your submission:
    - what are your differentiators and how do you communicate them?
    - how have you changed and validated the effectiveness of your marketing mix within the last twelve months?
    - what is your sales/ distribution strategy and how have you developed and measured it?
    - what evidence do you have that you are meeting specific market/ client needs and achieving client satisfaction?
  • Product Development/ Adaptation – it is recognised that many learning facilities providers offer a standard facilities; but opportunities for adaptation, innovation and personalisation of your standard product have increased dramatically and are to be included within this section. Consider the following points within your submission:
    - describe your notable achievements within this area over the last twelve months;
    - what evidence do you have that they were successful?
    - provide information on client endorsement of your processes and your achievements. 
  • Service Delivery – in this section identify both the qualitative and quantitative elements of service delivery and draw out examples of both responsiveness to client needs and client endorsement to highlight to the judges your credentials within this area.
  • Post Evaluation & Follow-up – what is your process for post event follow-up and what have you achieved through this process within the last twelve months?
  • Staff Development – what approach have you taken in the last twelve months to develop the skills of your staff – in terms of facilities management skills as well as personal and business skills.
  • Business Performance & Management – what evidence can you provide that the enterprise is managed professionally and ethically and is operated on a sound financial basis?
  • Achievement – what do you consider to be your core achievements within the last twelve months and why do you believe that this is the year that your enterprise should be Learning Facilities Provider of the Year?
  • Additional Comments – (NB this section is optional and although it will not assessed as part of the feedback process, it will be considered as part of your submission). In this section please add any additional points that you feel the judges should consider in evaluating your submission.
  • Judging Panel & Inspection – note that the short listed entrants will be asked to address the Judging Panel, and a member of the panel will be doing random inspections after the Panel session has been concluded.
